Well...honestly, there is no normal in this world. Seriously. She's an ex-mercenary, which means that none of her associates are guaranteed to be sane, her cousin is the Chosen of a deity (but not a God) and people who look human but aren't wander around using the power of the elements on a regular basis.

Actually, now that I've tought about it, even with this, she's abnormal. That's what makes her the protagonist. Also, the insane God of Fire wants to use her to crack the earth, and she's not arguing. Heh.

Hmm. Well, yes, but she's not beautiful. She's got too harsh an edge for that. I'd say she has sex appeal, but isn't sexy.
